Long-time Worthington residents remember a checkerboard at Chautauqua Park. The Early Risers wanted to bring it back in a refreshed way.
The City poured the concrete and club members painted the squares Game pieces were made by the Middle School VOKK students using equipment in the school’s shop classroom. John Hubbard, shop teacher, helped guide the students. Each piece has a magnet in the center which allows players to use a wand to pick up and move them.
The magnetic wands and game pieces are stored inside a box donated by Tractor Supply Company. The outside wrapping was made and donated by Harvey’s Signs, both of Worthington.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone that helped make this addition possible. May everyone enjoy this along with the other items that the club has installed.
